CMMI Level 2 for Services is the certification in the international reference model for IT service providers.
Key facts:
- CMMI for services evaluates the level of excellence with which the projects developed by the company are executed.
- Teclógica is the first 100% Brazilian company to be evaluated under the new version 1.3 of the CMMI for Services model.
- Today, CMMI is an important competitive differential, but it will soon become a requirement in the IT market.
CMMI Level 2 for Services Certification
Developed by the Software Engineering Institute (SEI) at Carnegie Mellon University in the United States, CMMI is a reference model for process improvement and quality evaluation, which measures a level of maturity. It is an evolution of the CMM and seeks to establish a single model for the corporate improvement process, integrating different models and disciplines.
This achievement is due to the company’s commitment to the client, its concern for delivery quality, and its focus on results-driven work, which are the pillars for earning this certification.
CMMI-SVC integrates the best knowledge practices that are essential for successful service delivery and provides guidance for service provider organizations in the areas of management and service delivery.
“With this certification, the company presents a very strong differential against the competition, guaranteeing the client the ability to evaluate and perceive the quality of service delivery even before acquiring them. Likewise, it offers clients the opportunity to absorb Teclógica’s knowledge through the service relationship without the need for specific investments for this purpose. The external recognition of the effort made only proves the high quality of the more than 200 professionals working at Teclógica, because, regardless of our roles, we are a team and this ends up being the result of a collective effort”, the executive proudly states.
In a universe of only 3 certified companies in Brazil, Teclógica is the only 100% Brazilian company and a pioneer in version 1.3 of the CMMI-SVC model.
The evaluation was carried out by Crest Consulting, an SEI partner, which verifies whether the organization’s practices comply with the required model. According to Adriana, this process is extremely rigorous and consists of different stages.
“Evidence is collected to be analyzed in the evaluation, and a set of people from various roles are interviewed. If the evidence and interviews cover the practices of the model and the respective objectives are met, the company becomes evaluated at the maturity level that was the scope of the evaluation.”
Always attentive to the importance of continuous process improvement, Teclógica has already begun work to achieve maturity level 3. In this stage, the company will be evaluated under the CMMI for Development and CMMI for Services models simultaneously.
Level 3 for Development focuses on Software Engineering processes, while Level 3 for Services focuses on Capacity, Service Contingency, and Strategy and development of new services.
