For about 50 years, Meritor has operated in Brazil and is a benchmark in supplying axles and drivetrain systems for heavy commercial vehicles not only in the country, but across Latin America. The company, which also aims to be a model in production management, underwent an overhaul of its server and software architecture. To update this department, it relied on the support and expertise of Teclógica, a company from Santa Catarina specialized in IT and Business process management.
Among the changes carried out by the project is the update of the Delmia system, one of the best-known softwares worldwide. Teclógica’s Infrastructure team was responsible for updating the solution, moving from version Apriso FlexNet 9.5 to Delmia Apriso 2016.
Used by major global manufacturing companies, Delmia offers a broad vision and control of all stages of the production process. With it, Meritor do Brasil will also gain efficiency in the manufacturing area, since the project executed by Teclógica manages the Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), which controls a large part of the phases in the company’s shop floor production system.
“Our goal is to be a benchmark in production management at our factory. That is why we chose Teclógica as our partner, as the company brings technical knowledge in infrastructure, databases, and applications that align with this planning.
We are very satisfied with the results, the professionals are highly qualified, and the project execution is meeting our expectations. The company serves us efficiently and agilely, making all deliveries within the established deadlines,” highlights Marcos Fassina, business process leader at Meritor do Brasil.
“The implementation of the new infrastructure and the update of the Delmia Apriso software will allow us to expand technological solutions and, consequently, the control of the production process. In addition, the platform will support testing and homologation environments, enabling a safer, more agile, and productive process, which will facilitate the implementation of new projects,” says Eduardo Ehlert, project manager at Teclógica.
New partnerships are already planned
In addition to the contribution to improving process management, Meritor intends to invest in two more technological innovations on its shop floor in the coming years. The demands are linked to functional improvements in the system, the use of tools that bring agility to report generation, and the expansion of integration functionality with production lines.
“We believe that the partnership between Teclógica and Meritor is bound to be long-lasting, as we see the company as a great partner to support our initiatives in the IT and business areas,” states Fassina.
