Carried out by FURB and the Municipal Prefecture of Indaial, Projeto Bugio has been around for almost 30 years and works on the conservation of brown howler monkeys. The institution is maintained through donations and voluntary work by biology students at the university.
Knowing this, Teclógica set aside some office equipment to help the Project. Glass boards, tables, trash cans, and office chairs were donated.
According to Sheila Francisco, coordinator of the Bugio Project “The equipment is being used at the Project’s headquarters in Indaial by students, interns, and professors who work and develop their research on-site.”
Clovis Vasselai, CEO of Teclógica, states that actions like this encourage social and preservation projects to continue their work.

More about the Bugio Project
“The mission of the Bugio Project is to inform and promote knowledge, maintain and care for brown howler monkeys that can no longer return to nature due to some illness or because they have lived under human care since they were babies,” informs Sheila.
Today at the center, there are 48 howler monkeys that depend on care, many of them due to conflicts with humans, such as being hit by cars or attacked by domestic animals, for example. In addition, the Yellow Fever outbreak that occurred in Brazil in 2015 left many babies orphaned, without the possibility of returning to nature.
